O' Christmas Tree

After 3 years of marriage, we get to celebrate our first official Christmas together! To celebrate, we decided to get a REAL Christmas tree this year!
To prepare for the arrival of our tree, I decorated the house beforehand. Here are a few shots of our house if you'd like to see:
Love how cozy the house is around this time of year! Oh, but on the tree front....as heavenly as our home smells, I have realized that I am 100% a fake tree person. So. many. needles, I've vacuumed 3 times already. I am too much of a neat freak to handle something so enormous and living in our home. Maybe a lesson on learning to be less controlling?

  2. When I got home from deployment and could decorate last year I was so excited to get a real tree....right up until I started thinking about all the mess. Ended up with a beautiful, easy to put together, pre-lit fake tree that I love. Now if I could just get my husband and I in the same place long enough to actually decorate together I'd be a happy girl! Maybe next year!

  3. Your home looks so cozy!! My mother-in-law is the same way. She cannot stand the mess of a real tree haha but I always grew up with a real one. My family always made it a tradition to go out and pick it together every year and then bring it home to decorate. To me, it's just not the same digging the tree out of the basement/garage/attic than actually going out and picking one from a Christmas tree farm or cutting one down in the woods. Luckily Zack feels the same way so there will never be a fake tree in our home haha

    1. Well your future kids will love that every year! Picking out a real tree was always our favorite, especially because at that age I never had to clean the needles! :) So excited for you that he is coming home soon!

  4. I adore your home décor! Where do you buy most of your things? I am trying to get a more cottage/farmhouse feel in our apartment, and you have nailed it! Tell me all your secrets!
